Budget Friendly Family Summer Fun!
Posted on 05 July, 2023
Summer is finally here, bringing warm breezes, sunny days, and endless opportunities for family fun. And if you’re in need of inspiration for the summer holiday, you’re in the right place. We’ve put together our perfect picks for sunny day fun.
Picnic in the Park
Pack up your sandwiches, sausage rolls and strawberries and head out to your local park (you can find yours here if you pop in your post code https://www.gov.uk/find-your-local-park). Picnic essentials to pack, a blanket to sit on, outdoor games, tissues for sticky fingers and finally the food.
Beach Bonanza
If you’re lucky enough to be able to get to a beach, grab your towels and wind breaker and don’t forget the suncream. Who can find the best shell, followed by a sandcastle building competition are always our highlights. Don't forget to top it all off with an ice cream to complete the ultimate beach day experience!
Nature Walks
Head out on a family adventure by exploring local walking trails and parks (you can find routes near you here https://www.ramblers.org.uk/go-walking/routes) Lace up your hiking boots and set off on an exciting trek, discover local hidden gems, and breathe in the fresh air. Setting the kids a list of plants, flowers and insects to look for on route is a great way to add a bit of fun learning into the experience.
Back Garden Camping
It’s really easy. Pitch a tent, string some fairy lights, and create a cosy camp site in your own back garden. You could toast marshmallows, share spooky stories under the stars, and enjoy the feeling of sleeping under the open sky. Loads of great memories to be made!
Outdoor Movie Night
Transform your back garden into an outdoor movie theatre. Hang a white sheet, set up a projector, and grab your favourite snacks. Get bundled up in blankets and let the movie magic unfold. It's a real treat for all the family and the kids will have a ball.
We hope these ideas will help you to make the most of the sunny days. Summer is the perfect time to take a breath, get outside with and reconnect with family and friends. Happy summer adventures!
